ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM
Go our bright screens,
RING, RING, RING
Go our phones,
HUM, HUM, HUM
Goes our chit-chat
From the moment we tried it… we won!*
Hey, don’t let all of this quarantine stuff (oops, “shelter in place,” or “pause”) get you feeling defeated. This post is about the MWC going VIRTUAL during the current COVID-19 “Pause.” We’ve spent the last week or so experimenting with various of the recurring activities utilizing the televideo service ZOOM to get together …. and it has been quite successful! So, stay connected with the MWC via ZOOM – not only the recurring activities but a few additional ones as well. This is how we see this going forward during the current shutdown:
Book clubs and Movie Mavens – Will meet virtually on their current dates and times. Group leaders will be in touch as to book and movie choices and send out a link for participation.
MahJong – We will announce shortly an online, group game where the play will be online and the sessions will be shared via Zoom.
Tennis – Haven’t figured that one out yet!
Lunch Bunch – Well, while we can’t go out to lunch – we can get together over lunch. Keep looking at this post for updates.
Other activities – webinars, concerts, cocktails, speakers and other presentations are currently being researched and will be announced as we come up with appealing options. If you are aware of an online activities which we can either go to jointly – or come together afterwards to discuss, please send in an email to let us know.
Please note that posts will be put up of activities which were on the boil at the time of the shutdown and are likely to be rescheduled. These will be in the main image area but also, below, under “Still Open:” – no reason to not start planning on future fun now!
Email notifications will be sent out – but PLEASE CHECK THIS POST for upcoming virtual activities and, of course, send in an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to be on a specific activitiy list and sent a ZOOM link for participation.
